How to choose your footwear?

Footwear is the most important accessory in a woman’s wardrobe. Every occasion demands a different kind of pair. Since most of us spend a major part of the day outside our homes walking around, the kind of shoes we wear must be comfortable lest we develop blisters or cuts.

There are different kinds of footwear.  Shoes, boots, sandals, flip flops …the list is never ending. Wearing the right kind of shoes doesn’t just provide comfort but is also testimony to how stylish you are.  An important fact to be retained in our minds is that whatever we choose to wear must fit us perfectly and must not be too loose or tight. A popular belief propagates that shoes must be bought in the late afternoon when our feet have expanded the most and are the biggest and a lot of individuals do go by this belief.

Since many of us work out and exercise, we need to buy a good pair of running shoes.  Remember, running shoes are meant to absorb shock and therefore must have a strong sole. It is also recommended to change your running shoes every two years or so as they can wear out.

Boots are also extremely popular especially during the rains and in winter. It is essential that they are water proof to a fair extent. Some people also use boots for activities like trekking or mountain climbing. Whatever the case maybe, they need to give you a good grip.

There are also other kinds like casual sandals, flip flops, stilettos etc.  A pair of good formal shoes is also a must in every wardrobe. A stylish pair of heels can make heads turn when you’re heading out for the evening. Casual sandals are more dual-purpose in nature. They not only look smart but also give you comfort. Formal shoes for that conference or seminar will be a bonus. You don’t want to stick out of the crowd by wearing inappropriate footwear.

Here are a few tips to help you buy the right kind of footwear.

  1. Buy your footwear in the afternoon because our feet swell as the day progresses.
  2. Always measure the size of your foot correctly.
  3. It is better if you measure both your feet as surprisingly large number of people have different sized feet.
  4. If you have feet of different sizes, buy the size that fits the bigger foot.
  5. Make sure your shoes fit you snugly and that you have space to wiggle your toes.
  6. Also consider some space for socks if you regularly wear them.
  7. Walk around in your new shoes and get rid of those blisters.

At the end of the day, the footwear that you buy must be comfortable and smart-looking and must give you good value for money. Considering that, approach a good retailer who can provide you with a variety of footwear of good quality.
